Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal and sensitive user data the SwipeMate: Chess Puzzles mobile app (the “App”) collects, why it is collected, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and how you can have it deleted. It covers the App on both Google Play and the Apple App Store, and this website.
1. Data We Collect and Why
The table below lists every category of personal or sensitive user data the App accesses, collects, uses, or shares.
| Data | Why we process it | Shared with |
|---|---|---|
| Gameplay data — puzzles attempted and solved, results, streaks, hints used, puzzle rating | To run core App features: serve the next puzzle, track your rating and progress | Stored on your device; synced to our backend only if you sign in |
| Account data — a username and the sign-in identifier you use (for example an email address, or an identifier from Google or Apple sign-in), if you choose to create an account | To create your profile and restore your progress across sessions and devices | Our backend hosting provider |
| Device and diagnostic data — device model, operating system version, app version, language, coarse region/IP-derived country, crash logs and performance data | To keep the App stable, diagnose crashes, and fix bugs | Google (Google Play services, crash and analytics reporting) |
| Advertising identifiers and ad interaction data — the Google Advertising ID, IP address, and the ads you are shown or interact with | To display ads (including rewarded ads offered in exchange for hints), to limit repeated ads, and to measure ad performance | Google AdMob (publisher ID pub-5582992551441305) and its advertising partners |
| Support correspondence — your email address and message if you contact us | To answer your question or process your request | No one; handled by us in our email inbox |
We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, health data, SMS, or call logs. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for purposes unrelated to the ones listed above.
2. Advertising
The App is supported by ads served through Google AdMob. Google may use the Advertising ID and ad interaction data to personalise ads and measure their performance, as described in how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy.
- On Android you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, and opt out of ad personalisation, in Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
- On iOS you can withhold the advertising identifier under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Where required by law (for example in the EEA and the UK), we ask for your consent before serving personalised ads, and you can change that choice at any time from within the App.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (running the App and your account), our legitimate interests (keeping the App stable and secure, preventing abuse), and your consent (personalised advertising, where consent is required). You may withdraw consent at any time.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
- On-device data (progress and settings) is kept until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App.
- Account and synced gameplay data is kept for as long as your account exists. If you request deletion, we delete it from our live systems within 30 days and from backups within 90 days.
- Diagnostic and crash data is retained in aggregated or short-lived form for up to 14 months.
- Support emails are kept for up to 24 months.
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time — see Delete your account and data, or email makmoukegypt@gmail.com. Requesting deletion of your data does not require you to delete the App.
5. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California and other US states with comparable laws have the right to know what is collected, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under the CPRA.
To exercise any of these rights, email makmoukegypt@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
6. Data Security
Data sent between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Data stored on our backend is held on access-controlled infrastructure, and access is limited to the developer for operating and supporting the App. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International Transfers
The App’s backend and the third-party services listed above may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact makmoukegypt@gmail.com and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. The revised policy will be posted at https://swipemate.mak-store.com/privacy-policy with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be announced in the App.
